Please join us for the next Benjamin Dean Lecture on Monday, March 31. Our
speaker will be Dr. Rachel Bean from Cornell University, speaking about "The
Dark Side of the Universe."

Recent cosmological observations have provided an extremely puzzling insight
into the nature of the universe. 95% of the universe's contents are
invisible or "dark", with 25% being "dark matter" and the majority in a
mysterious form labeled "dark energy". Understanding the origins of the
dark universe is requiring collaboration between theorists and observers,
and between astronomy and fundamental particle physics and represents one of
the major challenges in physics today.

The program begins at 7:30 pm in Kanbar Hall at the Jewish Community Center
of San Francisco, 3200 California Street (at Presidio Avenue). Tickets are
$5 in advance online at http://www.calacademy.org/events/index.php or at
the door. Please e-mail any questions to deanseries at calacademy.org or call
415-321-8000.

Parking is available across the street in the UCSF Laurel Heights campus
parking lot for $1.25 per night. Parking in the JCC garage is $1.50 per
half-hour. The #1 California, #3 Jackson, #4 Sutter, and #43 Masonic MUNI
lines stop directly in front of the building. The #38 Geary and #24
Divisadero buses stop only a few blocks away.
