Well yes, cats definitely come in pairs, when there is a pair, the
boredom and inactivity problem is gone, you just provide food, water,
litter robot, and watch your apartment slowly disintegrate (as they take
it apart bit by bit).

Better yet, how about two kitties?  Pillow here (15 mo, neutered) is the

kind who ought to have a playmate -- and in a few months he's going to 
need a new home anyway.
