Oh, the irony.  Does anybody remember the times when ISO and ITU
dismissed this whole Internet toy thing out of hand because it
wasn't based on "proper" international standards and besides it
wasn't them who had come up with it?  Nowadays they want to be in
charge of the Internet and make standards for it.

Sorry, just the reminiscences of an old man.

(Don't take the above as a statement that I'm opposed to putting
the ITU in charge.  It's just a hilarious perversion of their
original attitude.)
