Have to wonder then why it is that hospitals specifically intentionally
structure employment to maximize the number of part time workers as
possible to avoid providing health care benefits to their health care
workers, such that most nurses can't afford their own health care...

Yes, as opposed to having an actual family, hobbies, etc. rather than
having ex-spouses and part time kids, activity interests that stay hung
on the wall and in the garage (hey, that boat maintains its value if
you never get a chance to use it...)
