If you can do that, you can do computers which can run reality simulators at
a much higher frame rate than even red-glowing Mrs. Tinkerbell could handle.
Nevermind that it would burn less juice, too...

Bit twiddling is lots faster than atom twiddling, and burns less Joules.
So obviously the only atom twiddling will be done to maintain and expand the
physical layer, soon after advent of AI and/or uploads.
