Christo recently planned to wrap the famous Ponte S.Angelo,

He also planned to wrap the Mura Aureliane (Aurelian Wall),

and succeeeded (1974) in wrapping about 200 meters of these
Mura http://www.christojeanneclaude.net/wrw.html for a short
time, due to the very bad weather conditions and some shortage
of (public) money. Romans did not like it. By chance, or not
by chance, who knows?, the wrapping of Mura Aureliane also 
marked, signed the end of the "Dolce Vita", and - more
than that - the end of the "swinging" Rome.
