Science Daily is reporting that 2% of Caucasians may have
a gene that biases one towards schizophrenia (ouch!).

That probably means a significant fraction of us know one or
more people whose minds may be just a little bit over the edge.

In all probability there are other genes (or perhaps experiences)
required to tip the balance.  But it makes for interesting
speculation as to whether human evolution (since this mutation
is only 100,000 years old) has pushed us up to the edge of what
is feasible using the current human architecture.
