It would appear that Centocor/Eli Lilly are moving into phase 3
clinical trials for a drug (abciximab) that may be able to
push the normal 3 hour stroke window out to 6 hours.

If you have elderly relatives, you may want to find out how
to sign up for this trial.  Its got to be rather complex
because people who have a stroke can't give informed consent
generally and they aren't going to send samples to every
hospital in the country.  Perhaps they only intend to use
Northwestern Memorial Hospital(???).
