Ok -- there were some good suggestions related to contacting
NASA and I'm going to take that under consideration.

However if one does so one should have ones sources up
to date.  Spaceflight now seems to be doing that:

It seems that it might be better than the marsrovers.jpl
site.

I'm still unhappy about the quality of technical writing
for the technically qualified -- one might simply set the
engineers free.
