[extropy-chat] space: a novel approach to the NEO problem

Space.com had an article today that I thought may be of interest to some. SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc is developing a plan for a swarm of robots that would land on a NEO,  "eat" it, then eject the "eaten" part into space via a mass driver with a self-replicating tube to give the asteroid a little nudge in the opposite direction.
