Intel messed up pretty badly, and now admits they are incapable of 
releasing a 4ghz P4. That news just came out in the past few days.

AMD though just this week released their 4ghz equivalent 64-bit AMD64 
4000+ processor. AMD is the one to watch for desktop and small server 
performance leading CPUs for at least the next 18 months as dual core 
CPUs are released.
