If one cannot identify "authoritative sources", then
pursuit of a high-quality data set (to enable a
high-quality analysis) requires a different approach.
Get at foundational data and perform your own
analysis, and/or learn how to "crunch" sources so as
to be able to extract high-quality data from
mixed-quality data.
