Uh, no, Damien. The common understanding of this myth is that Narcissus
had excessive self-love, which is what narcissism is classified as by
pshrinks. Ergo, any behavior that is deemed too 'selfish', ego-centric,
self-involved, is claimed to be narcissistic in nature. 

If you care more about your immortality than the survival of the
greater ecology, according to the critic in this article, you are
therefore 'narcissistic' for being so selfish.
