Would you advocate blowing up the planet, then? Amounts to the same
thing: eliminate sentient life. (Actually, blowing up the planet would
be better; a nonsentient UFAI would gobble everything in .X of our
light cone, possibly eliminating chances for someone else to do
better. No, your "designed mind" isn't going to be sentient. If you
think otherwise, by all means explain how you propose to design a
sentient mind.)
