Hi.  I'm the chief engineer of the Jupiter Brain.  I haven't told anyone 
to do this in a long time, but read "Creating Friendly AI" at 
http://singinst.org/CFAI/.  It's a tad obsolete but still probably the 
best introduction to the issues.
