I'm going to respectfully withdraw from the discussion at this time
because it has gone well beyond the point of diminishing returns and I
don't see any effective near-term method for increasing understanding.

The gap itself is very interesting to me, and I think it hinges on a
early developmental preference for either the subjective or objective
basis in one's approach to describing the world, compounded by
semantic ambiguity and cultural biases.

It seems to be an increasingly relevant and important issue because
accelerating technology is forcing us to improve our understanding and
application of (broadening) objective knowledge in the service of our
(broadening) subjective goals, or to become irrelevant ourselves.
