FWIW: my European/US mobile phone has no field on Molokai. I can tell
you of a few more islands with spotty mobile connections too (most of
the Eolian islands, and Sicily, for example). Interestingly, The western
Greek islands seem to be well-covered.

You might be surprised to know too, that 50 km from Rome, the mobile
field works very badly, while in the countryside of the Baltic
states, the signal is strong and clear.
