Last time we looked at a review (several years ago, as you remember)
most steganography tools were pathetic. I don't think this situation
has changed dramatically. Cryptograpy and cypherpunk agenda have
ceased to be cool a while ago.

Of course it does. But blanket screening for steganography on a 
terabit router is also quite difficult. Even if you have the resources
to reassemble the packets on the fly and run statistic tests on them,
what will you do with false positives?

It would be a very dumb idea to use random images off the Internet,
though it would be quite difficult to find the original, as the hash
won't match anymore. I would just get a good digital camera with
RAW capabilities, or a nice video camera.

An unskilled person will almost certainly produce an image with
a detectable signature.
