It's worth keeping in mind, btw, that we already have proof consciousness
does not cause collapse of the wave function. If you record which slit the
particle went through, then destroy the record without ever looking at it,
the interference pattern still goes away.

What 'record then erase by reversible computation or suchlike means'
experiments could do is probe what _does_ cause the apparent collapse, and
in particular verify (or of course disprove) the MWI view that it's a result
of decoherence which, roughly speaking, is caused by the dissipation of kT
energy.
