### Wouldn't you think that branching occurs at the time of emission?
After all, if the observer knows emission occurred, then he must have
performed a non-reversible measurement. Once this measurement/event
occurred, there is a probability distribution of the paths of the
particle, with corresponding different branches containing all the
possible outcomes. At time t1 the observer merely learns the outcome
specific to his branch of the MWI, but the branch has already existed
since time t0.
