When the Sony Walkman was first introduced, I and several
acquaintances started calling them "'Mug Me' Boxes" due to the
expected loss of situational awareness. I think Phil Foglio used the
term in one panel of a cartoon.
Nothing new under the sun. Except the law (sigh).
