### Yes, the hearts were reperfused but not reimplanted. The true test
of the technology would have to include reimplantation and observation
of function for at least 2 - 3 weeks after reimplantation, since
apoptosis is an active process taking up to a few days, and it may be
followed by scar formation which can take weeks. Apoptotic death is an
important limitation on the functioning of frozen and thawed tissues.
