I think it's a beat up. I reckon the teachers were saying that it
should be discussed. If it were me, I would discuss it. "There's this
thing called Intelligent Design, it goes like this. It's wrong, can
you figure out why?" Something like that. Certainly a science class is
the right place to do some explicit immunisation against creationist
memes.
