Yes, i think the two terms properly are interchangable. 'Spiritual' is often used metaphorically in terms of the supernatural, but if we think of it terms of the German 'geist' it suddenly makes much more sense.

Yes, that is the point. But rather than the mystically-laden term
"spiritual", might we not refer to it as the subject of *meaning*?
