There are some interesting remarks about the intrinsic, ultimate limits of
computation and Moore's Law (in terms of memory, i/o bandwith, cycles per
second, etc.) in the Seth Lloyd contribution ("The Ultimate Laptop")

John Brockman. I believe that Kurzweil has also discussed the issue
somewhere a couple of times...
