No it is not.

None of the climate change models show serious effects before several
decades into the future, well beyond the point limited availability of
low cost energy will be killing people in famines and resource wars at
the 100 million a year rate.

The entire debate is a distraction from the real problem, which is to
come up with a new, low cost, primary source of energy.

The real problem is getting serious consideration by various groups of people.

It's a shame Extropians are not among them.
