Actually, you could transmit various diseases by the up-close act of
hugging.  And so the Japanese version of this will have the huggers wearing
medical face masks! lol

Perhaps the newest addition to the Extropic Principles should be "hug often,
when appropriate!"  And during transhumanist (if we can still use that
word...  ; )  ) conventions we can begin each day with everyone hugging the
person sitting next to them.
