Thanks BillK! The whole thing is still really bugging me: the perfect storm
in DC, the collapse of the Copenhagen conflab, the new embarrassments coming
nearly every day for the world climate experts. I had a great niche
business ready to go, and all this is spoiling it. I was going to be a
carbon credit provider for global warming skeptics. Oh it would have been
fine, and I would have made a cubic buttload of money. I could have a
special line of products, such as a square meter of land, growing something,
anything. Then if a city slicker wanted to drive a pickup truck and someone
gave her a bunch of trash about it, she could pull out the certificate and
say "Hey, I own a farm and this is a farm truck. Do yooou own a farm?"
Just think of all the stuff we could sell. Looks to me like I could earn
subsidies for growing anything carbon-intensive instead of cash crops for
instance. It looks to me like the wheels are coming off of the inconvenient
truth at a remarkable pace. I fear there will be no more fortunes to be
made here.
