You have said that "simulated understanding" is not understanding, so I repeat you think genuine  understanding is a completely useless property, unless that is you wish to change your position. I certainly would if I were you. However if you do change you should be aware of the consequences; if genuine understanding is not useless then Evolution can produce it and the Turing Test can detect it, if genuine understanding is useless then the Turing Test can't detect it and neither can Evolution. Do you understand?

Of course making a distinction between genuine understanding and simulated understanding is pretty silly, but that's another issue.
