 Part-time opening, working on a project for KurzweilAI


We have an immediate opening for a person to work with KurzweilAI
part-time on a project basis in helping us finalize our new website,
working from a home office. There may also be an opportunity for
future ongoing part-time work.


Tasks include:


- Read through the current articles, bios, and other documents on our
website and make corrections, updates, and additions to information
and photos.

- Data entry and data conversion

- Proofreading and copy-editing

- Updating website URLs and page content; layout, and formatting of
text and images, working in XHTML

- Researching content (articles and blog items) and entering them in
Wordpress posts

- Compiling resources: lists of books, journals, magazines, events,
websites, videos, people, books, and other information


Requirements:


- Excellent command of English; an experienced editor or writer preferred

- Experience in doing similar work: developing or administering
websites using XHTML or HTML and Wordpress (admin, editorial and data
entry; programming not required)

- Knowledge of and extensive exposure to futurism, Singularity, and
related subjects

- Grounding in science and technology and follows current developments

- Expertise in copyediting and proofreading and excellent command of English

- Perfectionist with obsession for detail and accuracy

- Proven experience in meeting tight deadlines

- Full access to a reliable high-speed Internet connection and
computer on a 24x7 basis

- At least 20 hours a week free for an undefined period of time, but
probably one month or more

- Expertise in computer use, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a
website editor, preferably Dreamweaver

- A person who subscribes to and participates in a number of lists on
KurzweilAI-related subjects is preferred

- A KurzweilAI newsletter subscriber who is highly enthusiastic about
the content of our website

- Experienced user of Skype (text and voice), Twitter, and Facebook,
and blog creation
