Apples & Oranges. Islamic isn't an ethnic group, it's a shared
belief. That it isn't shared universally is a source of great concern
for both believers and non-believers. The same could be said of many
prevailing flavors of monotheism. It is difficult to paint a very
accurate picture with such a broad brush.
