Yes, I think Rafal has already pointed to this article.

One wonders OTOH whether they committed suicide out of personal fear for
global warming ("better a clean, quick death than being boiled alive") or in
order to avoid contributing thereto with their continuing metabolism, and
perhaps indirect energy consumption.

I must say that I find the second possibility even more disquieting, but all
in all more likely.
