Alan, it isn't *me* making choices for you.  Likely I would have little or
no choice in the matter either.  The uploads would be devouring me too.
Your objections are analogous to one in an Amazonian stream arguing to a
school of hungry piranhas that you do not wish to be converted into more
piranhas, that you have a right to not be converted to piranhas, and so
forth.  A cloud of uploads may honor your wishes and not upload you, while
converting the ground you stand on to more uploads.  Note I am not imposing
my will on you, or anyone.  Rather I am making an extrapolation, or
reasonable prediction, should we discover that uploading is possible.
