One might also not rule out that an advanced civilization created a
universe in which FTL travel is not possible because they needed to
build a garden wall around those universes where magic happens every
day. ex: We generally don't build firebrick from substances that melt
easily.
How "advanced" of a civilization are we talking about anyway?
