I got the impression the MakerBot is more easy to use: RepRap is more of 
a maker engineer's system for the time being. It is probably like 
choosing a Linux distro - do you want Ubuntu or Slackware?

A friend of mine recently got a MakerBot; I will pester him for a 
demonstration.
