Thorium can be used in fission, it produces less and shorter lived radioactive decay products than Uranium, it makes almost no Plutonium that could be used in bombs, it is almost as common as Lead and unlike most present reactors that only use .7% of the Uranium (the U235) in a Thorium reactor you use 100% of the Thorium.   "No, I'm not interested in discussing that with you" 
Yes and I can see why, you don't want to be confused with the facts.
