Since no one has mentioned my favorite candidate for explaining
consciousness, despite all the talk about consciousness as an emergent
property of the brain's neural networks, intentionality/free will, and the
'hard problem,' I wanted to get a plug in for my camp, the Penrose-Hameroff
Orch OR model, http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/20. To date, no facts or
evidence have contradicted proposals supporting Orch OR. Testable and
falsifiable, Orch OR remains the most complete, detailed, and promising
theory of consciousness ever put forward. Woot!
