Shockley’s lab where the transistor was invented has been torn down and hauled away.  I went by there this morning to do my humble adoration, my Hail Boole, my Praise Babbage, my prostrate veneration and reverent genuflections before the cradle of silicon-based life, and found a strip mall being constructed at the site.
