Any time now we will see in the popular press a direct comparison between AI and guns.  Clearly a gun is a force multiplier for good or evil, depending on the person holding the gun and the point of view of the person who is viewing the person holding the gun.  

AI is a force multiplier, but it isn’t necessarily as obedient as a gun: it may or may not do as it is told.  The old saying “guns don’t kill people, people kill people’ may or may not apply to AI.
