We were on a tour boat out of Panama City.  We quickly acquired a following
of gulls.  After we got out a
​ ​
little bit some of us went to the top and starting feeding the gulls.  If
you tossed a cracker to them they'd catch it, drop back a bit, and then
come forward again.

If you held it in your hand they​ come and take it.

Not as remarkable as what you saw, but interesting.

It's like that earlier discussion of African pygmies:  we are just learning
how to test the intelligence of people who were raised quite differently
from us, and also how to test animals' IQ.

Animals and people who aren't smart in some way aren't with us anymore.
