I would like to see this kind of automatic discourse for the purpose of
gathering (capturing?) as much of a person as they can be bothered to
share.

The machine can tirelessly ask questions about the actors, actions, and
intentions in stories from any time period the person cares to share. It
will be life-logging, but retro-upload - eventually it would be as if
Facebook existed before computers. The ultimate scrapbook.

It also gives the person whose friends may already be gone someone (ok,
some thing) to talk to. Perhaps ironically, this companion can be a link
to humanity for those otherwise worth little left in the game.

The collective of our elderly's experience may be the patient teacher of
wisdom that AI trained on the daily grind would miss.
