This is evolutionary psychology.  Wars that happened in historical
times are almost irrelevant to gene selection in the stone age.

Rapid replacement is an indication that the historical mechanism to
keep the human population in check has been broken.

That's the second time we broke it, the first being when we got
organized enough to keep the big cats from munching on us.
