That argument had a lot more power a few decades ago than it does now. I
always knew someday radical libertarianism would have to be modified when
it comes to economic issues but figured it was too far in the future to be
relevant in a discussion of current events, but AI is advancing faster than
I thought it would and the day has come. In the next 5 years millions of
jobs will permanently go extinct and it's not realistic to retrain all
truck drivers to become computer programmers, and even if you could it's
only a matter of time before that job goes extinct too. And it's not just
truck drivers, one day you and I and everyone else is going to need that
safety net. The times are changing and we need to change with the times.
