When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.  When the government fears the people, there is liberty.  

 

Which do you prefer?  Me too.

I don’t think that the main reason the US Government is not a tyranny is that they are afraid you have have a gun. If it were the case, why is the US different to other stable non-tyrannies where citizens lack guns?

Hi Stathis, given time, other governments will turn to tyranny.  They aren’t there yet.  The US government would be there already if it had been given the chance.

 

In the US, it is always the scariest power-grabbers who want to get our guns from us.  It’s our job to see they don’t get them and don’t get power either.
