And how many more times will someone need to ask this?

Views change.  Mine have.  I am intrigued by Stathis’ notion that weird conclusions come from the assumption that consciousness is not tied to a bio-substrate.  I can’t think of any reason to believe it has to exist only in that form.  We haven’t seen it in nature, but for 99.9999 percent of the history of life on earth, we didn’t see flight in any substrate other than biological either.
