You keep mentioning Saul Alinsky as if he invented the protest. Bringing him up is no answer to the issues raised.

By the way, it's actually questionable when protesting police misconduct _if_ turning over a vandal or a looter to the police is the right thing to do. There are other ways to deal with such people rather than turning them over to a group of people who are known to brutalize other people.
