OK I get this part: different countries count their cases differently.  This
should be easy for yanks to get, for we have no standard rules for how
states count their cases (and they don't all do it the same way.)  Viruses
pay no attention to borders or political structures.  So why the heck should
there be such a huge difference from one country to another?
