Correction to previous…

 

It occurred to me I wouldn’t have been going to Mr. Degirolama’s shop until later, about 1974.

 

OK, 46 year old memories rather than 49 yrs ago, do pardon.

 

Another comment about Lorraine and Lucas’ techniques: mnemonics work for some people.  They don’t work for others.  I don’t know why, but they really work well for me: you hafta really be able to think outside the box to make up good ones.

For a long time the pro basketballer Jerry Lucas had a book on memorization.  If I were 50 years younger I would have every class buy it…

Someone gave me the book you referenced, and without even looking it up, I can tell you some cool things about that book.  It was given to me almost 50 years ago because I was in seventh grade at the time, so about 1971 or so.
