I have a subscription to Ufotv.com, and from what I have watched, the suggestions are the visitors are trying to prevent us from destroying ourselves (monitoring for nukes and such, disabling warheads and other tech when needed) and/or trying initiating contact with the populace vs the military industrial complex which seems set on being aggressive towards them. 

There is a large group of citizens responding and making contact using what one Dr. Greer has labelled the CE-5 protocols. I’m on Facebook groups with the CETI (Communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence) folks who use this and see their vids which seem credible. It’s pretty remarkable.
