"On Friday, roleplaying game publishers, Chaosium, posted the sad news that
tabletop roleplaying game designer, Steve Perrin, had left this earthly
plane. He was 75 years old.

Steve was one of the true pioneers of roleplaying games. He was the creator
of the iconic *RuneQuest* and contributed to *Call of the Cthulhu*. He also
created *Worlds of Wonder*, *Superworld*, the *Stormbringer* and
*Elfquest* RPGs,
and contributed to *Thieves' World* and other Chaosium titles. On top of
all of that, Steve is also remembered as a co-founder of the Medieval
living history organization, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)."

Steve's canny understanding of gaming mechanics and Luise's artistic vision
helped forge an iconic game still played around the world today.

But a few hours ago we learned that Steve was taken from us, even as he
worried that his beloved Luise's health situation was more dire than his.
He was a loving and devoted partner to the end."
